Abstract

We proposed and demonstrated a high-power and low-noise-figure hybrid doped fiber amplifier. It is composed of an Erbium doped fiber amplifier and an Erbium Ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier. The pump efficiency is improved by optimizing the length of gain fiber, including Erbium doped fiber and Erbium Ytterbium co-doped fiber, and the maximum gain was around 34 dB with 0 dBm input signal power. We also placed the proposed high power fiber amplifier before a 32- or 64-ports splitter as power amplifier in fiber network, and the system performance was also verified.
