Abstract
Abstract Light wave propagation through optical fiber suffers from numerous linear and nonlinear effects. To compensate it techniques have been adopted. Amongst optical fiber amplifiers doped with ions are one of the key tools to enhance spectral efficiency further. In this vision, an optical design with EDFA and Erbium ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier is presented for the single channel. The design’s performance has been investigated for numerous optical parameters for instance source wave length, radius of core, adding area, pump power, ion concentration, length and numerical aperture. Numerical simulations for the Erbium Ytterbium Co-doped fiber amplifier depict that with augment in the pump power and ion concentration there is hike in the resulting optical power. Evaluations also depict that performance is affected with deviation in the clad, core area. Further, it is accomplished that optimum performance could be attained with appropriate selection of the key parameters. The doped fiber amplifiers present tremendous benefits, evade frequent optoelectronic conversions over long haul optical communication.
