Abstract

A low-noise detection system for near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic measurements has been developed. The detection system consists of an InGaAs PIN photodiode with a charge integrating amplifier operated at 77 K. The minimum detectable power of 10-16 W was achieved at the wavelength of 1.28 mu m. The authors have also constructed a filter-based spectrometer in conjunction with this detection system. The system performance was tested by the measurement of the spectrum of singlet oxygen (1O2).
