Abstract

In this work, the sol gel method was used to synthesize In-doped Zno nanocrystals (IZO). For preparation of this highly concentrated sol, zinc acetate concentration was kept at 2M. Indium III chloride was used as dopant source with different concentrations changed between 2, 3 and 4at%. The optical properties of prepared samples were investigated by UV–visible absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Morphology and chemical analysis of IZO nanopowders were investigated by XRD, SEM and EDX spectroscopy. The existence of In3+ ions in ZnO nanoparticles was confirmed by EDX spectroscopy. XRD patterns only consist of ZnO diffraction peaks with the preferred (101) orientation for wurtzite structure. Obtain results showed that IZO samples have three emission peaks in the visible region, which has not been reported before.
