Abstract
In this report highly concentrated ZnO sol was synthesized by an improved sol-gel method. TEA (triethanolamine), as a stabilizer, and absolute ethanol were used as solvent for the preparation of stable ZnO sol. For the first time zinc acetate concentration has been fixed at 2M in solvent. FTIR analysis was performed to study the chemical compounds of as-prepared sol. UV–visible absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy were used to evaluate optical properties of prepared ZnO nanocrystals. The size and morphology of precipitated ZnO nanopowders were evaluated by SEM. Experimental results have shown that the prepared zinc oxide nanocrystals have extra high luminescence green emission as compared to other published materials. In addition, the synthesized sol shows blue emission in visible region.
