Abstract

A nuclear-charge-radius ``puzzle'' is raised by this study on the difference of the nuclear charge radii --- derived from high-precision atomic spectra --- between ${}^{4}$He and ${}^{3}$He, where it is shown that the last previously unknown nuclear mass correction to the atomic transitions is insufficient in explaining the discrepancy.
