Abstract

A «complete» set of diagrams of 2π exchange contributions to the\({\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) interaction is considered in\({\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) scattering. A comparison with a dispersion-theoretic result for the 2π exchange is performed in higher partial waves. Further, diagrams of πρ exchange are taken into account and found to be essential for a quantitative description of\({\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) scattering phase shifts in low partial waves. Preliminary results for nuclear matter with this meson-theoretic\({\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) interaction are quoted. Various mesonic effects in nuclear matter are discussed.
