Abstract
The form of bosonic higher derivative terms of D=10 supergravity compactified on Calabi-Yau spaces is restricted by the requirements that the equations of motion be satisfied and that the propagators do not contain unphysical modes. As an illustration the form of possible terms of order α′ 2 is deduced. It is also shown that the solution on Calabi-Yau spaces is stable against certain fluctuations of Yang-Mills fields and gravitons.
