Abstract

In article number 1800019, Guoqiang Xie, Liejia Qian and co-workers realize generation of high-charge optical vortices directly from laser up to the 288th order enabled by a laser inscribing pattern on a cavity mirror. A theoretical design criterion is proposed to generate an arbitrary-charge optical vortex with this method. The vortices generated from the laser are completely stable with transmission. This work may open up application prospects of optical vortices in quantum optics and precise metrology.
