Abstract

Background and Aims: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) affects up to 30% of the patients undergoing cardiac surgery and it is related with high morbidity and mortality. Research has been performed for an early post-surgery prediction, usually within the first 6h. However, this can be too late so we aim to investigate molecular features able to predict in-hospital AKI even before cardiac surgery.
