Abstract
This invited paper summarizes latest developments in investigation of high temperature superconducting (HTCS) thin films as broadband optical detectors. These detectors can be transition edge bolometers, non-bolometric (nonequilibrium) detectors and photon-assisted tunneling detectors. Experimental results using HTCS thin films are available for the first two types of detectors and will be presented. Also the mechanism of the optical response based on these results will be discussed.
