Abstract
A tracking detector with a capillary bundle filled with a liquid scintillator exposed to a 40 GeV π beam has been investigated. Image intensifiers have been used to amplify optical signals from the detector. The information was read out by a CCD. The obtained number of hits per unit track length n 0 was 13 mm −1 with a straight-line RMS residual σ tr=43 μm. The track impact parameter precision was δ ≅ 7 μm. The two-track resolution was 100 μm.
