Abstract

A novel spectrometer, which uses the penetrating field technique, has been used to obtain high resolution threshold photoelectron spectra of H+2 at both liquid nitrogen and room temperatures. Photoionization of vibrationally excited H2, produced by recombinative desorption in a recently developed source, has also been investigated.
