Abstract
HASYLAB's beamline F1 was modified for powder diffraction in a triple-axis geometry. The diffractometer consists of two independent circles for θ and 2θ motion on either side of the beam. The θ circle can be translated along its axis. This makes the instrument highly flexible for the installation of different attachments like a cryostat which was used for low temperature measurements on the new high T c superconductors. Measurements on zeolites demonstrate the excellent resolution and signal-to-noise ratio. Novel measuring strategies concerning the use of multiple analyzers, the examination of phase transitions and anomalous dispersion are presented.
