Abstract

Abstract Sidebands of the main OH stretch mode in SrTiO3 shown to originate from interactions with Fe impurities are investigated. The number of OH stretch modes in SrTiO3 increases with Fe-doping. The intensities of the absorption lines depend strongly on annealing treatments. We have studied these lines with respect to the temperature dependence of the vibrational frequencies, the dependence on light polarization and the splitting patterns under static electric fields. For an interpretation we propose hydrogen sites associated with both iron impurities and oxygen vacancies.
