Abstract
German cockroach (Blattella germanica; GCr) is a source of indoor aeroallergens associated with allergic rhinitis and asthma. Vitellin/vitellogenin, a high molecular mass and abundant protein in GCr eggs and egg cases, has been identified as a possible allergen serologically. To better study its allergenic properties we purified vitellin/vitellogenin from whole body defatted GCr powder, a readily available source material.
