Abstract

The electrical performance of an organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) based on pentacene was improved significantly through the control of both layer surfaces and device interfaces. Moreover, a 5.8-inch flexible organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display consisting of the OTFT and OLED devices on a thin plastic substrate was demonstrated. While operating the OTFT backplane at relatively low voltages below 15 V, good average field-effect mobility levels of 0.1cm2/Vs were exhibited. The flexible AM-OLED panel displayed distinct color moving images at a frame rate of 60 Hz.
