Abstract

ABSTRACTPhytic acid was quantified using a tetrabutylammonium‐formate ion pair on an octadecyl column in HPLC. Unlike previous methods, phytic acid eluted significantly later than the dead volume. Good separations were possible with a linear response up to 40 micrograms and a sensitivity of 0.002 micrograms phytic acid. Results with this method are compatible with conventional methods for phytic acid.
