Abstract
The US Department of Defense(DoD), relies on high-performance computing as a key enabling technology. The breadth of application is impressive, impacting a wide range of activities from basic research to weapons testing. This edition of Computing in Science & Engineering highlights a subset of HPC uses within the DoD, specifically those supported by the DoD High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP).
