Abstract

The Fe–45 at.%Pd alloy film with high electromagnetic noise resistance and high magnetostrictive susceptibility was developed. In addition, the practical purpose was to propose a new method for accurately evaluating the magnetostrictive susceptibility at different applied magnetic fields. The magnetostrictive susceptibility obtained by the Fe–45 at.%Pd alloy film makes it an appropriate remote actuator in low magnetic fields below 300 Oe. The maximum magnetostrictive susceptibility was 2.9 ppm/Oe at 78 Oe. The magnetostrictive susceptibility of the Fe–45 at.%Pd alloy film was higher than that of a giant magnetostrictive Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 alloy film from 25 to 250 Oe.
