Abstract
In this paper, high gain slotted waveguide fed microstrip antenna array with high power handling capacity has been designed at Ka-band. It consists of slotted waveguide, which feeds linear microstrip antenna array. This type of feeding technique has an advantage that it reduces the losses from the microstrip feed network and can handle high power. Each linear microstrip antenna array has 27 elements and there are 26 such linear arrays which are placed on each slot of the waveguide. It gives a bandwidth (S 11 ≤ 10 dB) from 35.80-36 GHz and gain of 35.4 dBi. It gives side lobe level of 16.8 dB. Such an antenna can be used in high power millimeter wave applications.
