Abstract

Models which can be used to explain the mechanism of recording on magnetooptical disks within the accuracy required for our drive system are described. Guide rules for understanding the mechanism of recording on magnetooptical disks through the read and write processes are developed based on these models. These guide rules are useful for simulation of the mechanism and prediction of system performance. According to these guide rules, these models of the read and write processes are reduced and simplified so that we can easily construct and develop a high-density recording system. Furthermore, an example of analysis based on this simplified model and a new method for high density recording based on these guide rule are described.
