Abstract
In the first part of the paper hierarchical methods for on-line optimization and control will be presented. They are classified according to the measurability and predictability of the main disturbances influencing the optimality of the process. In the second part some applications in the field of control of regional water distribution and of greenhouse climate control will be demonstrated.
