Abstract

In The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Kerrie Davies and colleagues report findings of a large epidemiological study of Clostridium difficile infection in Europe.1 Their study included 482 participating hospitals from 20 European countries and is probably the largest such study done so far. Their findings show wide disparities in C difficile testing practices across Europe and highlight the true burden of disease.
