ABSTRACT This essay explores the performative nature of identity within recovery spaces, the power of collective narratives in healing, and the intersection of performance studies with personal experiences of addiction and recovery. The correspondence reflects on the importance of shared experience, the transformative potential of human connection and hope, and the value of embracing vulnerability within communities of performance. The utilization of collaborative autoperformance choices highlights the interconnectedness of the performative I and the performative we of individual and collective restorative journeys.
