Abstract
An analogue of the salts of Millon's base, (Hg2P)2HgBr4, was prepared by a solid-state synthesis; its crystal structure is based on a three-dimensional net, the tunnels of which are filled by columns of apex-shared, disordered HgBr5 trigonal bipyramids.
