Abstract

Closed Space Sublimation (CSS) technique has been studied to deposit Hg1−xCdxTe polycrystalline films on CdZnTe substrates at the improved pressure–temperature conditions. The experimental results on film characterization suggest that the CSS optimal conditions are the argon atmospheric pressure (1013mbar) and the deposition temperature in the range of 500–550°C. These conditions provide macro-defect free Hg1−xCdxTe films with the uniform size and surface distribution of polycrystals.
