Abstract

Hexagonal ZnTiO3 (h-ZnTiO3) films with an orientation of [0001] were grown on LiNbO3 (0001) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The structural and optical properties of the films were studied in detail. High quality single crystal h-ZnTiO3 film was obtained at the growth temperature of 700 °C. The epitaxial relationship between the film and the substrate was h-ZnTiO3 (0001) ‖ LiNbO3 (0001) with h-ZnTiO3 [21‾1‾0] ‖ LiNbO3 [21‾1‾0]. The optical band gap of h-ZnTiO3 film deposited at 700 °C was 3.73 eV. High-quality h-ZnTiO3 epitaxial films have potential applications in optoelectronic devices.
