Abstract

A heuristic planning method of electric vehicle (EV) fast charging station on a freeway considering the power flow constraints of the distribution network was proposed. Firstly, the spatial and temporal distribution of EV charging points was determined based on a spatial-temporal model (STM); then the charging demand of candidate fast charging stations was determined based on the Shared Nearest Neighbor (SNN) Clustering algorithm; finally, a heuristic principle was proposed to meet the power flow constraints of the distribution network and the final planning scheme (the location and capacity) was determined. A typical test system was used to verify the validity of the planning method.
