Abstract

The relationship between nucleotide sequences of the RNAs of turnip yellow mosaic virus, eggplant mosaic virus, and Andean potato latent virus was studied by using hybridization of iodinated viral RNAs with unlabeled RNase-treated nucleic acid fractions prepared from infected leaves. Results showed a large homology between iodinated RNA of one virus and the corresponding unlabeled double-stranded RNA prepared from plants infected with this same virus, but not with double-stranded RNA prepared from plants infected with either of the other two tymoviruses investigated.
