Abstract

Cheap thrills: A new metal–organic framework, based on cheap, abundant calcium, with the bent ligand, 4,4′-hexafluoroisopropylidenebisbenzoic acid, serves as a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the hydrogenation of styrene to form ethyl benzene under mild conditions. Complete hydrogenation occurs after 2 h at 373 K without formation of byproducts. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
