Abstract
Hemivertebrae is an anomaly that most often is asymptomatic. However, it is the vertebral congenital disease that frequently most results in spinal cord neurological signs. In the majority of the cases this condition is a radiological accidental finding promotes commonly a superficial discussion of this disease, despite the severe neurological signs as the condition progresses. The aim of this article is describe the causes of this anomaly in dogs and cats and highlight the pathogenesis, clinical sings, diagnostic tools and treatment modalities.
