Abstract
Alzheimer's Disease is a worsening health problem that is catastrophic for its victims, their families, and costs society billions. An explication of the illness precedes the article's focus which is group treatment of wives whose severely impaired husbands are hospitalized in a long term care unit at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. A description of the group, therapeutic interventions and results are examined. This modality appears to have the potential to alleviate the stress and suffering of these women.
