Abstract
The Heitler-Ma equation is adapted so that it can deal with two-photon spontaneous emission and resonance fluorescence processes. The authors introduce two types of effective Hamiltonian, depending on whether all the intermediate states are non-resonant or one of them is resonant. The spectra for spontaneous emission, and for resonance fluorescence in both weak and strong excitation fields, are discussed.
