Abstract

A brief overview on heavy-quark-QGP interactions is presented in this work. Theories at different momentum scales are summarized, including the flavor hierarchy of jet energy loss at high pT, hadronization and the charmed hadron chemistry at medium to low pT, and the extraction of the heavy-quark-QGP potential at low pT. Recent theoretical developments on heavy quark theories are discussed, such as multi-scale transport models of heavy quarks, probing initial state effects and cold nuclear matter effects using heavy quarks, as well as extending studies from single heavy flavor hadrons to heavy flavor jets.
