Abstract

UDC 539.3 Based on the model of a heat-sensitive body, we determine the temperature field of a finite-length cylinder under the conditions of convective heat exchange through all surfaces of the body with hightemperature media. In this case, the heat transfer coefficients on the boundaries are different and the temperature of the medium around the cylindrical surface changes along the height of the cylinder. We reveal the efficiency of application of the method of linearizing parameters to the solution of these two-dimensional nonlinear problems of heat conduction. By comparing the determined temperature distribution with the distribution obtained by using the linear model (when the heat-conduction coefficient is constant and equal to the reference or mean-integral value), we establish the influence of the thermal sensitivity of the material on this distribution.
