Abstract
Heat-trapping systems to moderate the cooling of components on the intermediate roller conveyer of broad-strip hot-rolling mills are considered. In terms of performance, Encomech panels are compared with Russian screens at the 2000 mills of OAO NLMK, OAO Severstal’, and OAO MMK, and also at the 1700 mill of PAO MMK im. Il’icha (Ukraine). Significant benefits of the Russian systems are noted.
