Abstract

ABSTRACT Aheat pump was tested in a closed duct system under various ambient temperatures, air flow rates and evaporator moisture loads to find the optimal operational conditions as a latent-to-sensible heat transfer unit. A third order polynominal equation was fitted to the research data to develop a prediction equation for COP of the heat pump with respect to the controlled variables. COP decreased as ambient temperatures and mass air flow rate increased, and increased as evaporator mositure load increased..
