Abstract

Densities and heat capacities of methanol+nitromethane and methanol+propylene carbonate mixtures were determined over the whole composition range at 298.15 K. Excess molar volumes and heat capacities of investigated mixtures were calculated and correlated by polynomial equations of Redlich and Kister. Partial molar volumes and heat capacities for both components of the mixture were calculated. The behaviour of investigated systems is discussed in comparison with methanol+acetonitrile and methanol+ N, N-dimethylformamide mixtures.
