Abstract

After 9 years, a substantially enlarged second edition of Heart Disease in infancy and Childhood has been published. The past decade has witnessed enormous progress in our knowledge of congenital heart disease; the authors have performed a masterful effort in updating their highly successful first edition. Several of the chapters have been completely revised; others have been significantly amended. The sections on complete transposition of the great arteries, single ventricle, chamber localization, and dextrocardia have been rewritten in collaboration with Dr. Richard Van Praagh.
