Abstract

Background: Nurses work in the fields of health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. After finishing high school, the title of nurse-technician is obtained, and they can be employed in primary, secondary, or tertiary healthcare institutions in basic medical care jobs up to the complex requirements of progressive care. The ability to transfer theory from the classroom to clinical practice is a key skill in nursing education. This transfer refers to students' ability to adapt classroom knowledge to different clinical practice situations. In order to provide nursing care that meets the standards of professional care, medical school students must accurately and effectively transfer theoretical knowledge to address specific patient care situations. Nursing education programs prepare students through a variety of learning opportunities that include simulated situations in healthcare offices and real-world situations in clinical hospital settings. Education takes place in classrooms, laboratories, and clinics. While the classroom environment provides students with mostly theoretical information, the clinical environment provides opportunities to put theoretical information into practice. Aim: To show the importance of practical teaching in the education of nurses. Method: Literature review, synthesis, and extraction of key professional and contemporary literature. Conclusion: Medical school students can acquire quality skills for patient care to the extent that they are able to implement them through theoretical knowledge in the clinical environment.
