Abstract

ABSTRACTFor more than 50 years, civil engineers, scientists and the medical profession have collaborated to reduce the occupational health risks of working in compressed air. Under the auspices of the Medical Research Council, the Health and Safety Executive and, through the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) of the civil‐engineering industry, the data of the Decompression Sickness Central Registry of exposure and medical records are being analysed in order to identify healthier working practices and disciplines.
