Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of health education to pituitary adenoma patients by endonasal transsphenoidal approach.Methods 100 pituitary adenoma patients by endonasal transsphenoidal approach were randomly divided into experimental group (health education path) and control group (traditional method),50 cases in each group.Results In experimental group,the rate of understanding disease knowledge was 49/50,the rate of following the doctor's advice was 50/50,the average hospital stay was 10.5 d,the satisfaction degree on nursing was 48/50; and those in control group were 32/50,40/50,13.0 d,43/50 respectively; with statistically significant differences between two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion The health education path is an ideal approach to improve the level of recognition and satisfaction degree of patients and their families,worthy of being generalized.
