Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention using health education path in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura. Methods A convenient sample was conducted to choose 70 inpatients with Henoch-Schonlein purpura in a hospital of Tongchuan, Shaanxi province in January 2010- October 2011. The 70 patients were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in the experimental group were nursed by using health education path and in the control group were taken care of using routine nursing intervention during their hospital stay. The hospitalization time and disease relapse rate were observed in the two groups. Results The average hospitalization time was 8.5±1.05 days, and 15±1.02 days in the experimental group and control group, respectively. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The disease relapse rate was 7.8% and 22.8% in the experimental group and control group, respectively. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Hospitalization time and disease relapse rate in children with Henoch- Schonlein purpura are reduced by nursing intervention using health education path.
