Abstract

The health communication research topic agenda is identified as covering health provider - patient/family communication; communication and health care legal issues; executive health communication and communication about occupational health and safety; health risk communication; mass communication and health; and education programs stressing competency in health communication. The research methodology agenda is shown to increasingly favour qualitative methodologies including descriptive research; action research; and story analysis derived from narrative theory.
