Abstract
The Journal of Operating Department Practitioners' associated LinkedIn group has a variety of members from all over the world. It provides an opportunity for those working in the perioperative environment to come together and discuss topics that are not only important to them, but are pertinent to the wider health care community. A recent comment, by Consultant Editor, Paul Wicker, whetted the appetite of a number of members and generated a lively debate.
