Abstract

In this paper, the author asks whether and under which circumstances a long-term relationship that is not legally recognized can be regarded as marriage in the Christian sense. He reaches the conclusion that marriage froma Christian point of view has its foundation neither in the law nor in a romantic feeling of love but in faith and the spirit of love.
