Abstract
The Nova Laser Fusion Research Facility recently constructed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory can provide researchers with powerful laser beams at 1.05, 5.53, and 0.35 μm for the study of inertial confinement fusion (ICF), laser plasma interactions, and other high-energy density phenomena of interest to the scientific arid defense communities. The Nove laser system uses Nd:phosphate glass as the active material and master oscillator power amplifier architecture with ten parallel large-diameter (74-cm) beams.
