Abstract

Research Article| September 01 2013 Haneke's Endgame Garrett Stewart Garrett Stewart Garrett Stewart, James O. Freedman Professor of Letters at the University of Iowa, is the author, along with books on fiction, painting, and conceptual art, of Between Film and Screen: Modernism’s Photo Synthesis (1999) and Framed Time: Toward a Postfilmic Cinema (2007). As previewed in a recent article for Film Quarterly, “Cinema and Surveillance” (Summer 2013), his newest study, Closed Circuits: Screening Narrative Surveillance, is forthcoming from the University of Chicago Press in 2014.
