Abstract

With this review, we aim to show the value of a recently published volume, that portrays a 19th-century American lady, Caroline Fitzgerald, living in Henry James’ cultural and intellectual environment. Thanks to unpublished letters and a detailed investigation of her life, the author allows us to follow the dreams, aspirations and travels of this unconventional lady, along with those of her two brothers.
